Today, February 7, 2025, the XIV ValgrAI Research Morning Meeting took place, an event that marked a special milestone in the series of monthly meetings organized by this association dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. This edition stood out for featuring the winners of the II Artificial Intelligence Awards of the Valencian Region, offering attendees the unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the most innovative research in the field of AI.

The event, which is held online via Microsoft Teams, brings together experts, enthusiasts, and professionals from the sector to explore the frontiers of knowledge in AI. The protagonists of this edition were Pasqual Martí Gimeno, from the Universitat Politècnica de València, winner of the Best Doctoral Thesis Award, and Adrián Roselló, from the Universitat d’Alacant, awarded the Best Master’s Thesis Award.
The presentations were:

Source-free domain adaptation techniques for music score transcription

Speaker: Adrián Roselló – Best Master’s Thesis Award (Universitat d’Alacant)
Description: This master’s thesis focuses on the study of techniques related to domain adaptation. Specifically, it seeks to investigate how the application of these deep learning-based techniques can adapt to a previously unseen data domain. All this with the aim of aiding the field of musical preservation, which presents an optimal environment for the applicability of these techniques. The different techniques and challenges in the presented field will thus be investigated.

AI contributions towards sustainable and efficient road transport

Speaker: Pasqual Martí Gimeno – Best Doctoral Thesis Award (Universitat Politècnica de València)
Description: In his presentation, Pasqual Martí Gimeno explored the innovative research of his doctoral thesis, focused on transforming road transport through advanced artificial intelligence techniques. Addressing the critical environmental challenges associated with greenhouse gas emissions, his work focuses on modeling multi-agent transport systems and virtual simulations that seek to optimize fleet operation. Through a comprehensive approach, Pasqual demonstrated how these technological solutions can simultaneously increase economic efficiency, improve service quality, and significantly reduce environmental impact, presenting a promising path towards more sustainable and efficient transport in modern society.

These presentations were followed by lively question and answer sessions, where attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers, delving into the most intriguing aspects of their research.

From ValgrAI, we want to encourage all those interested in Artificial Intelligence to join these enriching monthly conversations. The ValgrAI Research Morning Meeting are held every first Friday of the month at 9:30 AM, offering a unique platform to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in AI, connect with industry experts, and participate in stimulating debates about the future of this transformative technology.

Don’t miss the next edition and be part of this community that is shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence in the Valencian Region and beyond. We look forward to seeing you at the next ValgrAI Research Morning Meeting!
