Artificial intelligence and the Valencian audiovisual industry are forging closer ties thanks to the framework collaboration agreement signed between the Valencian Association of Audiovisual Production Companies and Independent Producers (AVANT) and the ValgrAI Foundation (Valencian Graduate School and Research Network of Artificial Intelligence). This alliance opens a new chapter in the convergence between technology, culture and innovation.
The agreement, signed by Rafael Molés Vilar, president of AVANT, and Ana Cidad Vila, managing director of ValgrAI, aims to foster a lasting collaborative space to promote joint initiatives in teaching, research and knowledge transfer around artificial intelligence (AI). Both entities share the vision of strengthening the creative and innovative ecosystem of the Valencian Community through projects that integrate cutting-edge technology with local audiovisual talent.
Among the planned lines of action are the organisation of courses, seminars, joint publications and the development of innovative projects in AI. In addition, ValgrAI will apply special discounts to AVANT members to facilitate their access to continuous training in this strategic area.
One of the highlights of the agreement is the inclusion of AVANT and its associates in the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Alliance (AIIA), the community promoted by ValgrAI to foster collaborative innovation in AI within the Valencian Innovation System. This membership will allow the audiovisual sector to connect with researchers, technologists and agents of the ecosystem to explore new narratives, tools and audiovisual formats powered by artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence has become a key tool for the evolution of the audiovisual sector, bringing concrete benefits such as the automation of repetitive tasks – for example, the classification of scenes or the generation of automatic subtitles – which saves time and reduces production costs. In addition, technologies such as voice synthesis and AI-based visual effects creation streamline workflows and enable high-quality results even in projects with limited budgets. Far from replacing creative talent, AI complements it, giving professionals more time and resources to focus on storytelling, aesthetics and innovation, without relinquishing artistic control.
This collaboration reinforces the positioning of the Valencian Community as an innovative territory, capable of building bridges between strategic sectors and anticipating the challenges of the future. With this agreement, AVANT and ValgrAI demonstrate that artificial intelligence not only transforms industries: it also connects worlds.
