What do we want to achieve?

In 2024, we plan to continue the support provided in 2023 and, in addition, to launch new activities:

  • Finance more than 150 study grants (after the more than 160 we financed in 2023) so that students with the best academic records can pursue an official master’s degree at one of the five public Valencian universities related to Artificial Intelligence (academic year 24/25), to train new talent and strengthen our region’s AI ecosystem.
  • Continue and expand the incentive program for Research in Artificial Intelligence and associated disciplines, with the aim of generating new knowledge and transferring it to the productive sector:
    • Renewing contracts from the previous year (21 predoctoral and 3 postdoctoral)
    • Launch new calls for the hiring of predoctoral researchers and postdoctoral researchers to carry out a doctoral thesis or a research project in one of the AI research groups in the Valencian Community on Artificial Intelligence. Giving priority to industrial doctorates.
  • Interdisciplinary research projects program: a new funding program for research projects to generate synergies and promote technology transfer with an impact on the productive sector.
  • Preparatory actions program: a new program to finance the preparation of large interdisciplinary research projects. To enhance the impact of research.
  • II valgrAI Awards for Artificial Intelligence Valencian Community: the second edition of the awards program with different categories that will seek to reward the most relevant research and innovation activities carried out during each year.
  • Free divulgative events with speakers of the highest international prestige and openly broadcasted for maximum impact, to promote scientific dissemination, business innovation, and the incorporation of responsible AI throughout society.
  • Talent attraction meetings: organization of events to promote the approach between students and companies to promote their labor integration in the region’s productive sector.
  • Artificial Intelligence Innovation Alliance: support our Artificial Intelligence innovation community involving researchers, students, and professionals from universities, research centers, companies, and entities interested in AI innovation, with the ultimate goal of promoting dissemination, knowledge and technology exchange, and articulating cooperation and the generation of synergies around AI in the Valencian Innovation System.
  • New courses and training programs aimed at different professional and academic profiles, with the goal of promoting continuous training and skill development in their sector. Also, new customized courses for those companies wishing to exploit the potential of their business with Artificial Intelligence.

And above all, we want to be creative and launch new initiatives to promote collaboration, dissemination, training, and research in AI, so that it benefits companies and society at large.
