Madrid, October 2, 2023.- In an effort to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in artificial intelligence and humanities research, the Ortega-Marañón Foundation and ValgrAI have agreed to collaborate to promote educational programs, seminars, workshops, and research projects. This agreement aims to broaden the horizons of Artificial Intelligence beyond its technological field, reinforcing ValgrAI’s mission to promote academic excellence and respond to emerging technological needs and new production models. For the Foundation, this agreement will strengthen the vision of humanities in the development of artificial intelligence and its various disciplines.

ValgrAI is a non-profit foundation that began its activities in 2022 with a scientific-educational character and arises from the initiative of the Generalitat Valenciana along with the five public universities of this community: Universitat de València, Universitat Politècnica de València, Universitat d’Alacant, Universitat Jaume I, and Universidad Miguel Hernández, in addition to companies from the technological and scientific sector.

Another fundamental goal of this new agreement is to bring a human and social dimension to current developments in artificial intelligence. Furthermore, initiatives to disseminate and transfer knowledge will be promoted, aligned with the common objectives of both institutions.

The signing of the agreement was carried out by Lucía Sala Silveira, general director of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation, and Ana Cidad, managing director of ValgrAI. Accompanying the signing were also Estrella Nicolás, director of international programs of the Foundation; Jordi Linares, researcher of the Mixed Research Unit of ValgrAI and coordinator and professor of some of the AI courses offered by the Foundation; David Gómez, director of Communication of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation, and Fernando Mínguez, Head of Marketing and Communication of ValgrAI.
