These awards aim to recognize academic excellence and emerging talents from Valencian universities.

Valencia, November 13, 2023 – ValgrAI (Valencian Postgraduate School and Artificial Intelligence Research Network) has announced the call for the 1st ValgrAI Artificial Intelligence Awards of the Valencian Community. The initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of students and researchers in training at Valencian universities in AI.

The awards focus on several categories, including the best master’s and doctoral theses and top academic records in specific university master’s programs related to AI.

These awards, funded by the Valencian Department of Education, Universities, and Employment, and in collaboration with the five main universities of the Valencian Community (University of Valencia, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Jaume I University, University of Alicante, and Miguel Hernández University), highlight ValgrAI’s commitment to academic excellence, emerging talents, and innovation in artificial intelligence.

In this regard, ValgrAI’s General Director, Vicente Botti, has stated, “with these awards, we want to express our eagerness to promote artificial intelligence and its practical application,” as it is “an opportunity for emerging talents to be recognized and for their innovative contributions in AI to be celebrated regionally and beyond.”

The ValgrAI Awards 2023 offer the winners significant recognition of excellence, a certificate, financial aid of €1,000, and promotion through ValgrAI’s channels. This underscores not only the academic and research achievements of the awardees but also their potential for future development and visibility in this field.

ValgrAI’s collaboration with leading Valencian universities reinforces the collective focus on promoting excellence and innovation in AI, encouraging the next generation of researchers and professionals in this dynamic and ever-evolving field.

The deadline for award submissions is November 26, 2023, and the terms can be found on ValgrAI’s website (ValgrAI Awards 2023 – valgrAI)

The awardees will be announced at a special event on December 18 at Jaume I University. This event will not only recognize the winners. Still, it will also serve as a platform to discuss and share ideas about the future of AI in a prominent round table featuring Ramon López de Mantaras, Jesús Conill, José Hernández Orallo, and Vicent Botti titled “Unveiling the Future: Challenges and Reflections on General-Purpose Artificial Intelligence.”
